J-D Trail Riding Camp has been awarded a 5 Star Campground Rating for 2010 for ranking in the Top 5% of all horse campgrounds reviewed at HorseTrailDirectory.com. This was based on over 1,000 reviews submitted on 251 campgrounds.

This camp is owned and operated by Jo and David Harrington. David and I are a couple of computer geeks from Texas that have taken up camping and trail riding in the last 10 years. My love has always been horses and David's is computer technology and John Deere tractors. We got into this business because we both love being in the outdoors and it brings us closer to all the things we enjoy, including visiting old friends and making new ones.

We have 4 daughters, 3 grandchildren, 4 dogs, 4 cats, 1 Quaker parrot, 3 horses, and my mom, as you will get to know her as "Mrs. Ellie". She retired several years ago and now shares all the responsiblity of this brood we have. She keeps us all straight.

My family and I just returned from a week of camping and trail riding at J-D Trail Riding and RV camp near Octavia,Ok. Just wanted to tell everyone what a great experience we had. The camping facilities are very well kept. There are corrals at each site and the owners provide a water hose, wheelbarrow and a rake for you. There is electricity and water at each site as well as a picnic table and fire ring. All sites provide easy access to the trails. The pavilion and restroom facilities are top notch. Jo spends lots of time maintaining and adding new trails. Of course Ms.Ellie makes some great cookies!! The trails were well marked and easy to follow. We cannot say enough good things about this nice camp. We will go again in the future .. Jack Martin from Texarkana, TX
Just had my first visit at J-D riding camp. It was awesome! Wonderful, well marked trails that were less rocky than most in that area. The trails went from following clear creeks to lovely views. Very clean campground with many amenities provided. The hosts are gracious and helpful in any situation. There were nine of us and most of us plus several others have reservations in Oct to go back.
